It is the age of civil wars in Japan when war lords reign supreme over their provinces and farmers suffer from the drain of severe taxation. Torao Taro of Toki Castle must deliver his province's war fund to Lord Hojo. During his journey, bandits headed by Kai (Mifune Toshiro) attack him and steal his money. Meanwhile, treacherous plots and sibling rivalry stir trouble at Toki Castle. Taro, now accused of being an outlaw by his family, befriends the same bandits who robbed him. Together, as the "Red Demons of Amagi", they ride through the land in their scarlet armour and distribute money to the farmers. |
