One of the most exciting and realistic versions of the story of the 47 Ronin of Ako. This powerful adaptation, done in 2 parts is absolutely thrilling. Using the martial arts expertise of the Japan Action Club (JAC), this has some of the best fighting, as well as telling the story in its full length in a manner showing more insight into what really went on during the events leading up to, and after Lord Asano Takumi no Kami attacked Lord Kira Kozukenosuke. Unlike some versions which are long winded and boring, this is the real deal. This made for TV movie has broken new ground in the story, and must be seen. A true credit to the journals of Japan's greatest story. The revenge of the 47 men, who were willing to give their lives for the honor of their clan, and to avenge their beloved Lord. |
