Saotome Mondonosuke, a sword master and guard of the Shogunate, must foil a Minister's sister's plan to assassinate the Shogun. Yet before he can act, the Minister pre-emptively kidnaps Saotome's lover and her brother. Starring screen legend Utaemon Ichikawa in the role he made famous this is one of the longest running series in Japanese film history.
